Anne knows me, I too was injured and even through the UK has different laws the principal should be the same. I am a union rep but not like the ones in America. I am a member of the Royal Collage of Nursing in the UK it is a professional union in that it has a Trade Union part but is also has a education and development of practices parts to it. It lobbies parliament and speaks for nurses in the UK, and for Patients at times as well. Here are some points I would advise you to do. If you have any health and safety rules read up on then. Then you need to keep a diary of events from the day you were injured to present day. Get statements from staff you were on with Keep a record of all your phone contacts with occupational health , your manager ect, Follow up telephone calls with a communication outlining the call and your understanding of what was said. If you feel bullied or harassed by manager est. Keep a note of what was said when and where and who was present get supporting statements if you can. Keep copies of all you communication and keep in a folder in order so you can refer back to it if necessary. With the bulling keep a not of how the comments made you feel. For it is how you felt not the intension of the person making the comments. Then read as much as you can about safe lifting and good practices within you state and the US. You can also use this sites references material it is a very good resource. Well I hope this has helped a little Maria
