We are primarily installing ceiling lifts and using Hovermatts to eliminate manual patient handling, except in extreme emergencies. We are not instituting lift teams as they can be expensive and inadequate; the team can get injured, turn around time is not always good,and there can be a high turnover rate. By buying enough equipment and the right kind, it is a one time expense. Our system expects everyone to take responsibility to work safely, just like driving and wearing a seat belt.
